Project: Piccadilly Circus Circus

Role: Stage Manager

Venue: Piccadilly Circus, London

This event was hands down one of the most unique and exciting I've ever worked on. I Stage Managed one of 15 stages - With no advertising we turned Central London into a pop up circus as a surprise to celebrate the London Olympics. The top of Regent Street right through Leicester Square was transformed into a pedestrianised spectacle full of surprises as the streets were brought to life and iconic landmarks became the playground of the world’s most exciting modern circus performers.

It was bonkers; from tight-rope walkers to acrobats, illusionists to trapeze flyers, everyone who happened to be passing by ended up staying for hours. The grand finale was truly spectacular, the French circus act Les Studios de Cirque performed a stunning act on zipwire whilst dropping 1.5 tons of feathers on the whole of Piccadilly Circus. It was incredible!
